Mark Bramble was nominated for a 2001 Tony Award for his work on 42nd Street. He began his theatrical career working for David Merrick. He directed 42nd Street in London, Tokyo, Sydney and Amsterdam and is the author of Barnum (Tony Award nomination for Best Book and Best Musical) and The Three Musketeers and co-author (with Michael Stewart) of The Grand Tour; Treasure Island; Elizabeth and Essex and 42nd Street (Tony Award Best Musical, Laurence Olivier Award for Musical of the Year). Bramble directed the rock and roll extravaganza Fat Pig for the Leicester Haymarket Theatre in England and Notre Dame, based on Victor Hugo’s novel, at Saddler’s Wells in London; he also created the radio musical In With the Old for the BBC. He is a member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers and the Dramatists Guild.
